Male Cancer Screening — AED 299
A tumour marker blood panel with a doctor consultation before and after. It gives you and your doctor a starting point, and it is read by a doctor rather than handed to you as a printout. Gift Land Building, 1st Floor, Najda Street, Abu Dhabi.
One fixed price. Insurance accepted on eligible plans, including Daman and Thiqa.
What this panel is, and what it is not
This panel indicates risk. It does not diagnose cancer. Tumour markers are proteins measured in a blood sample. Levels can rise when a cancer is present — but they also rise in conditions that are not cancer, and they can sit in the normal range in someone who does have one.
That is why the panel comes with a doctor at both ends. A number on its own tells you very little. A number read alongside your history, your age and anything you have noticed is worth something.
An abnormal result does not mean you have cancer. It means further tests are needed, and your doctor will explain which ones and why.
If you already have a symptom that worries you, book a GP consultation instead of a screening panel. Symptoms need looking into directly, not waiting on a blood test. This panel is for men who feel well and want a baseline.
What the panel covers
All of the following are included in the AED 299 price, alongside both consultations.
- PSA Total and PSA Free — prostate specific antigen
- Alpha Fetoprotein (AFP)
- CEA — carcinoembryonic antigen
- CA 19.9
- Beta HCG — quantitative
Your doctor explains which of these are relevant to you and why. Everything you discuss stays between you and your doctor.
How your appointment works
1. Your first consultation
A doctor asks about your age, your family history and your general health, and explains what the panel can and cannot tell you before you decide to go ahead.
2. Bloods taken at the clinic
A single blood sample is taken on the same visit. No fasting is needed for these tests. For an accurate PSA reading, avoid vigorous cycling and ejaculation for 48 hours beforehand, and tell your doctor if you have had a recent prostate examination or urinary infection — each of these can raise the result on its own.
3. Your results consultation
You come back and a doctor goes through the panel with you in person. If anything needs following up, the next step is explained and priced before it happens.
Who might consider it
- Men who have not had any health check for several years
- Men with a family history of prostate, bowel, liver or pancreatic cancer
- Men over 50 — and from around 45 where there is a family history
- Anyone who wants a baseline reading to compare against in future
Your doctor will discuss whether this panel is the right choice for you, or whether something else would tell you more. It is a reasonable thing to decide against.

Common questions
Will this tell me whether I have cancer?
No. It indicates risk and points to whether further tests are worth doing. A normal result is reassuring but not a guarantee, and an abnormal one is not a diagnosis. Only imaging and, where needed, a biopsy can diagnose cancer.
What happens if a marker comes back raised?
Your doctor explains what that particular marker can mean, since several non-cancerous conditions raise them. Usually the next step is repeating the test or arranging an investigation. You will not be left to interpret a number on your own.
Do I need to fast?
No. These tests do not require fasting. If your doctor recommends adding anything that does, our team will tell you before your appointment.
Should I have this every year?
That depends on your age, your family history and this year’s results. Your doctor will tell you what makes sense for you rather than assuming an annual repeat.
How long do results take?
Most results are back within 24 to 48 hours. Our team contacts you to arrange your results consultation as soon as they arrive.
Is there a version for women?
Yes. Female Cancer Screening uses a different marker panel and is also AED 299. Looking for something else? Browse our full range of medical services.
