Training hard? Check how your body is handling it.
Eleven blood tests covering the systems that carry the load when you train — kidneys, liver, blood sugar, thyroid, cholesterol and more. A GP consultation before, and another to explain the results. Gift Land Building, 1st Floor, Najda Street, Abu Dhabi.
AED 249, one fixed price. Insurance accepted on eligible plans, including Daman and Thiqa.
What the panel covers
All of the following are included in the AED 249 price, alongside both consultations.
- Kidney function and eGFR — the system that clears what your body breaks down
- Liver function
- Uric acid
- Fasting blood glucose and HbA1c — how your body is handling sugar now, and over the past three months
- Lipid profile — cholesterol and triglycerides
- Thyroid profile — TSH, T3 and T4
- Complete blood count
- Total testosterone
- Vitamin D
This is a blood panel. It does not measure body fat, muscle mass or fitness — it tells you how the systems underneath are working.
Why these tests, for people who train
Regular hard training changes what your body is dealing with. High protein intake, supplements, sustained effort and rapid changes in weight all put demands on the kidneys and liver in particular, and none of that shows up in how you feel or how you look.
Blood sugar and cholesterol are worth knowing at any level of fitness — being lean and active does not rule either out, and plenty of people are surprised by their results.
Thyroid, blood count and Vitamin D cover the more ordinary reasons that training stalls, recovery slows or energy drops away, which are easy to mistake for needing to push harder.
Tell your doctor about anything you are taking — supplements, protein products, pre-workout, or anything bought online or through a gym. Some affect these results directly, and some affect your liver and kidneys. Your doctor needs to know to read the panel properly, and what you say stays between you and them.
How your appointment works
1. Your first GP consultation
You describe how you train, what you take and anything you have noticed. Your doctor confirms the panel makes sense for you.
2. Bloods taken at the clinic
A single sample on the same visit. Come fasted — nothing to eat for eight to twelve hours — and avoid a hard session for a day or two beforehand, since heavy training can raise liver and muscle readings on its own and make the results harder to read.
3. Your results consultation
A doctor goes through all eleven results with you and explains what each one means in the context of how you train. If anything needs repeating or looking into further, that is explained and priced before it happens.
Who this suits
- Anyone training several times a week who has never had bloods done
- People starting a new programme who want a baseline to compare against
- Anyone taking supplements regularly and wanting to know how their body is coping
- People whose progress or recovery has stalled without an obvious reason
- Anyone whose family has diabetes, thyroid or cholesterol problems
If you want a deeper look at hormones specifically, the Male Hormone Profile at AED 549 covers FSH, LH, prolactin and more alongside testosterone. Your doctor can tell you which is the better fit.

Common questions
Do I need to fast?
Yes. Nothing to eat for eight to twelve hours beforehand, as this affects the glucose and cholesterol results. Water is fine, and take your usual medication unless your doctor has told you otherwise.
Should I train before my appointment?
Better not to. A hard session in the day or two before can raise liver and muscle readings by itself, which makes the panel harder to interpret. Keep it light or rest.
Will this tell me my body fat percentage?
No. This is a blood panel. It measures what is happening inside — kidneys, liver, blood sugar, thyroid and the rest — rather than body composition.
Is testosterone included?
Total testosterone is part of the panel. If hormones are your main concern, the Male Hormone Profile at AED 549 goes considerably further. Testosterone is highest in the morning, so book an early slot either way.
How long do results take?
Most results are back within 24 to 48 hours. Our team contacts you to arrange your results consultation as soon as they arrive.
Is this only for men?
No. Women who train regularly are equally welcome, and the panel is the same. Your doctor will explain what each result means for you. Looking for something else? Browse our full range of medical services.
